Thousands of families enjoyed a behind the scenes look at JCB at the weekend as the doors to the company's world headquarters were thrown open to raise money for the NSPCC.
The event on Saturday attracted more than 5,000 people – with queues to get in forming an hour before the official opening. Awaiting the visitors was a feast of attractions including tours of production areas normally reserved for customers and dealers and an appearance from the world's fastest digger, the 150mph JCB GT.
UNFLAPPABLE staff at JCB have been swooping in to try and help a parrot that has found its way into the grounds of the company's World Headquarters. The bright red creature, native to Australia, was spotted in trees near the Hydraulic Business Unit in Rocester.

And Quality Engineer Andy Mullins and Welding Specialist Les Walker tried to take the bird under their wing – with the help of some sturdy protective gloves.
Atlas Copco has launched the first impact wrench with a closed lubrication system, the LMS 67.
By keeping grease inside the tool, it offers low maintenance and exceptional service lifetime. This new generation wrench also provides an impressive power-to-weight ratio.
If you don't lubricate standard impact wrenches, they wear out fast. With the newly developed Grease Retaining System, lubrication is kept inside the tool with the help of a seal that surrounds the impact mechanism. The result, is less maintenance and longer service lifetime.

The LMS 67 is also a powerful tool – weighing just 9.4 kg it delivers up to 2 800 Nm.
The high power comes from a rebound of the clutch and the motor. This rebound will increase with the tightening torque. The tool / the LMS 67 will use this rebound as an extra rotational angel to increase the energy of the next impact.
To provide a more reliable wrench, the LMS 67 is powered by a well-proven system that works without springs.
In addition, the impact mechanism has been balanced to reduce vibrations and increase operator comfort.
